An Eye for Art
Juanita Baldwin grew up in the coastal city of La Serena, in northern Chile. Baldwin’s passion for the arts began when a friend asked her to take watercolor lessons from an American artist.
“I thought it would be fun to join them, have a cup of coffee while they painted, and chat. I ended up taking the lessons and developed a real interest in the arts,” said Baldwin.

During the month of February, love is in the air as we celebrate Valentine's Day with heart candy, chocolates, flowers and special valentines! I love to decorate for every holiday. New Business Comes Into Mid-Michigan with a Splash
A new business in Okemos will make quite a splash in the New Year.
Goldfish Swim School, a year-round program for children from 4 months to 12 years of age, offers instruction like none other in the area. Located just off of Marsh Road, Goldfish hosted its first swim classes on Dec. 5 with more than 70 children registered.

My Community: East Lansing Winter Glow
East Lansing’s Annual Winter Glow took place on Saturday, Dec.1. The event featured ice carving, a holiday farmers market, marshmallow roasting, a children’s winter carnival, live music performances, horse and carriage rides, a reindeer petting zoo, merchant activities, roasted chestnuts and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. At 5 p.m., volunteers lit more than 500 luminaries throughout downtown, providing a festive winter glow for East Lansing and its residents.
