The annual Ele’s Place 5k, took place on Saturday, July 22. Many showed up to support Ele’s Place, which provides free-of-charge counseling services to families who have experienced loss. The race offered prizes to the first five finishers and a 100 yard dash for kids.

I made my way to the Country Club of Lansing following a steady stream of red tail-lights. The evening was cold and damp, it was one of those nights when it would have been so easy to just go home and cuddle up on the couch. Approximately 200 women took to the field Saturday, April 16 to participate in the Spartan Women’s Football Clinic at the Duffy Daugherty Football Complex. Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and several members of the football team instructed the female fans in a variety of drills. The women also toured the Skandalaris Football Center and had a Q&A session with the coaching staff and their wives. Proceeds benefited Ele’s Place in Lansing.

Ele’s Place is a nonprofit, community-based organization whose mission is to create awareness of and support for grieving children and their families. Because death crosses all religious, cultural and economic boundaries, Ele’s Place is committed to reaching out to all grieving children and their families throughout Mid-Michigan.
