I love Christmas time. It is my most FAVORITE time of the year. I love all of the excitement and wonder of the season. The way my kids get excited making out their Christmas lists and talking about Santa. Snuggling on the couch sipping hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies. Decorating Christmas cookies and making chocolate covered pretzels, these are Santa’s favorite at the Hardesty house. And, of course all of the holiday parties.
For this month’s DIY I decided to make some Christmas candy decorations. You can make these for your mantle, counter or even to use a centerpiece for your Christmas party this year. Enjoy and have a Colorful Candy Christmas!
Christmas Sprinkle Ornaments
• Candy sprinkles
• Clear ornaments
• Masking tape
Step One – Fill the ornament with candy sprinkles. 2 min.
Step Two – Wrap masking tape around the ornament top to help hold it in place. 2 min.
Step Three – Cover the masking tape with decorative ribbon. 2-3 min.
Gum Drop Christmas Trees
• Gum drops
• Cone shaped styrofoam
• Craft glue
Step One – Cut toothpicks in half. 5 min.
Step Two – Put glue on a section of the Styrofoam (starting at the base).
Step Three – Stick a toothpick into the Styrofoam, leaving about half sticking out. Place a gum drop onto the toothpick. 1 min.
Step Four – Repeat the above process by placing another toothpick and gum drop.
Step Five – Drop next to the one previously placed. Work from the base up by doing a row all the way around the Styrofoam and then moving up. 10 min.
