Dress up Your Dad

For the most part dads get a bad rap when it comes to fashion. Think black socks and sandals, goofy t-shirts and jeans far past their glory days. But it doesn’t have to be like that. We here at Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine take pride in dressing up our dads and so do our friends at the Lansing Mall. Together we’ve come up with two looks and a line of products that will have dad smelling and looking fantastic. Preppy Pop Khaki shorts are a summer staple that every guy should have in his closet. They are the epitome of versatile. Proof of that is in this outfit when the shorts are paired with a long sleeve button up and tie, providing the perfect look for a dinner on the patio or an evening boat ride to take in the sunset. Shorts by Kingdom Dreams, $47.50; shirt by Tallia, $74.50 both available at Kingdom Dreams at the Lansing Mall. Decked out Dad There is no substitute for a nice suit. This suit is a great alternative to the usual black or grey. In a neutral tone with a light pattern, it can be mixed with a variety of colors and is great for many occasions. Suit by Tommy Hilfiger, price varies. Shirt by Calvin Klein, $94.50; tie by Calvin Klein, $59.50; pocket square, $9.99; tie bar, $24.99. All available at Men’s Wearhouse at the Lansing Mall. Scent of a Man It’s hard to go wrong with any Ralph Lauren cologne, but Polo Black is one of our team’s favorites. Plus, since it’s close to Father’s Day, all the wonderful gift sets that brands like Polo put together are hard to resist. Head to Macy’s at the Lansing Mall to find a scent and a set that’s right for your dad. Costs vary.
