To further aid Capital Area Response Effort (C.A.R.E.) in their mission of reaching domestic violence survivors in need, Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine (CAWLM) Publisher Tiffany Dowling presented a $4,000 check to C.A.R.E. Program Coordinator/Advocate Desirae Kelley-Kato. The money was raised during the annual Lady Classic Golf Outing. This is the seventh consecutive year of the Lady Classic golf outing, and the first time it benefitted C.A.R.E. In September 2013 more than 140 women gathered at Timber Ridge Golf Club to participate in the Lady Classic. Along with a portion of entry fees and sponsorship dollars, all of the money raised during the event through various activities, including the celebrity caddy auction, went directly to C.A.R.E. The money raised for C.A.R.E. will help support and spread word about the services they provide to the community. C.A.R.E.’s near 24-hour help includes providing personal needs items, safety planning, court advocacy and more, assisting those experiencing domestic violence. Next year’s CAWLM Lady Classic is set for Thursday, Sept. 18.
