Splish, Splash Swimsuits

Swimsuit shopping may not be everyone’s favorite hobby, but let’s face it, if you plan to be at the beach or pool this summer, it’s a must. Plus we here at Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine have a theory we’d like to share. It’s not so much about the swimsuit, as it is the accessories. Here are two ways we make a swimsuit sizzle and a few beauty products we HAVE to have this summer. Emily Caswell, Managing Editor ‘Wrapping is Easy’ When I spotted this sailor-inspired swim suit at my go-to swimsuit shop — Land’s End — I knew it was just what I needed to hit the high seas (ah, I mean, the pool) this summer. I am opting to pair it with a sundress, flip flops with a bit of animal print and a beach bag that can be washed clean after ever use. I NEVER hit the beach without SPF, especially SPF for my lips. My pick for summer is Maybelline’s Baby Lips. Suit, $100 at Land’s End; Sundress by Gap, $24; Flip flops by Sonoma, $11 available at Kohl’s; Plastic beach bag, $5.99, available at Target; Baby Lips by Maybelline, $3, available at drug stores. Kelly Ritter, Production Director ‘Beauty and the Beach’ Summer is my favorite time of year, but with my fair skin, laying out for hours in the sun just isn’t an option. I love my Quick Tan self tanner, it gives me an even bronze glow fast. A golden tan always look best in white so this BCBG cover up is perfect. A bikini is my summer staple and the fun pink color will never go out of style — perfect for a dip in the pool. After being in the water I always use a little conditioning spray to bring my hair back to life to make sure I’m always ready for the next summer adventure. BCBG cover up, $80: Victoria’s Secret Bikini, $80; Quick Tan Self Tanner, $21; Paul Mitchell Color Protect Conditioning Spray, $17. [nggallery id=234]
