Get Pool Ready

Finally it’s here! That warm, sunny weather that we all have not-so-patiently been waiting for … the summer sun and fun always put me in a great mood. I mean, how can you not be happy when the sun is shining? I love being outdoors working in my flower gardens, playing with the kids and watching them ride their bikes in the driveway and of course, SWIMMING! My family spends most of the summer at my sister’s house. She has a pool, which means that my kids would like to live there if they could. For this month’s DIY I thought it would be fun for them to make a cover-up to put over their bathing suit on the rides back and forth to my sister’s. And what outfit would be complete without some fun shoes to match? Both of these DIYs are fun projects for the kids to make. I mean what child doesn’t enjoy a squirt gun, especially one that squirts paint?! Cover-up Supplies White t-shirt Fabric paint Water 3 squirt guns 3 bowls 3 stir sticks Clothes pins Clothes line How-To Step One Hang your t-shirt on the clothes line by pinning the shirt on the top of the line with your clothes pins. Step Two Add paint to each of your bowls. Mix in water, adding a little bit at a time, until you have a thin consistency. Step Three Pour paint/water mixture into squirt guns. Step Four Put that squirt gun in the hands of your son/daughter and let them create! Step Five Leave the shirt to dry for several hours. Flip Flop Fun Supplies Flip flops Water balloons How-To Step One One at a time, tie water balloons onto the straps of your flip flops. Be sure to double knot. Step Two Show off your fancy feet!
