After spending her childhood in the “Sweetcorn Capital of the World,” Kate Snyder attended Michigan State University (MSU) and has found a home in Lansing with her husband Andrew and dog, Herbie. As the Principal Strategist for her boutique agency, Piper & Gold Public Relations, Snyder says, “One of the most fantastic aspects of my job is being able to create the type of environment where I can see people — my team, our clients — be happy and successful.” Snyder has found that one of the most rewarding aspects of her job is the ability to surround herself with people that she is able to help. During her free time, Snyder is an active member of the community theater world, loves to travel, knit and craft, mostly at the bar with her girlfriends. Her passion for crafting has led her to co-launch her lifestyle blog, Domestic Slice, with a few other women from the area. “I wanted an excuse to share, but also a reason to keep me focused on making time for things I really enjoy,” says Snyder. The thing that has kept Snyder in the Lansing area for so long is the number of families that she has here, which include her “theater people, MSU friends, entrepreneurial community and the Lansing Twitteratti,” as she likes to call them.
