Local Men: Tom Matt

Tom Matt partied pretty hard in his life, but turned it around and worked really hard to get where he’s at now. Matt returned to college and is now working to make living a healthy life a passion. His positive attitude toward both life and his work inspires the people around him to always do their best. He works for health in both body and life, meaning balance between being happy and being healthy. To helps other do the same Matt hosts “Boomers Rock” on FTNS.co.
Q: What are you working on now?
A: Right now I’m working on a new book that’s sort of an anthology of a bunch of people that have been on my show. Getting their take on health and keeping a great lifestyle. I feel like it will be a popular book for fans of the show and people from the baby boomer generation.
Q: Why are you writing books?
A: I do it for a number of reasons, but mostly to help people. To try to get boomers to be healthier and have people learn from my mistakes. I’m not trying to tell people how to live or to judge anybody; if you’re happy with your life, then live it. But if you want to get to a goal, or be a little healthier, then I would like to help.
Q: Why don’t you retire? A: I don’t like retirement because it’s too finite, like it’s the end of everything. I always want to be working on something, whether it’s my radio show, writing my books or something new that comes along down the line. I feel like my generation needs to keep up with the technology and keep moving forward. People today lack belief and need to be more positive. That’s what I set out to do.
