Events June 15 — Legends Theme Party, Holt. Dress like your favorite music star-rock, country, pop, you name it. So far people have Elvis, Joan Jett, Peter Frampton, Dolly Parton, Lil Wayne and Sting. The entertainment is unique. Another twist, a few line dances during the evening both country and pop. Join Junior Achievement of mid-Michigan on the greens at Walnut Hill Country Club for their annual Capital City Golf Classic. The event kicks off with registration at 10:30 a.m. and includes lunch, contests, dinner, awards, a silent auction and more. Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of mid-Michigan. Register to play Meridian Sun Golf Club with a start time at 10:30 a.m. Includes cart, 18-hole scramble, box lunch, dinner, live music, contests, prizes and 50/50 raffle. Cost: $75/person. Email or visit June 21 — 18th Annual Lansing Mayor’s Drug Free Youth Golf Classic, Lansing. Your participation makes all the difference. Your support plays a vital role in ensuring the continuation of local youth-focused prevention and intervention programs. Proceeds help keep Lansing on track to ending drug abuse in our city. This 5k walk/run and 1-mile fun walk/run starts at Meridian Municipal Complex at 6 p.m. The goal of the event is to raise funds for home rehabilitation equipment for Phil Prygoski, an avid runner who suffered a stroke while training for Lansing’s first-half marathon. Canoe races, corporate relays, disc golf, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, boot camp, fire truck pulls and more. Teams compete for medals and a traveling trophy. Proceeds benefit Friends of Ingham County Parks and the Westside YMCA. Presenting sponsor Jackson National Life Insurance will host this annual 5k that directly benefits Ele’s Place, a healing center for grieving children and teens at 9 a.m. Ele’s Race is a member of the Playmakers Greater Lansing Race Series. The 5k run/walk, kids 100 yard dash and kids 1-mile run provide a fun-filled family event that helps raise funds and awareness. Fee: $25/person before July 16, $30/person July 16-28.
