CAWLM Donates $4,500 to the LCRM Maplewood Center Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine donated $4,500 to the Lansing City Rescue Mission Maplewood Center for women and children on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The money was raised during CAWLM’s annual Lady Classic golf outing, held at Timber Ridge Golf Club on Sept. 15. More than 140 lady golfers took to the greens for a day of golf and fun. All money raised during the event through a 50/50 raffle, grand prize drawing and celebrity caddy auction, went directly to the cause. The Lady Classic has benefited the Maplewood Center for the past three years. This year the outing raised a record dollar amount, making the three-year donation from CAWLM more than $11,000. The $4,500 will go toward the center’s Skills Tutor program, aimed at helping long-term guests of the center earn their high school diploma or GED.
