Greg Ward has been with Consumers Energy for 14 years and is currently the company’s director of marketing. He enjoys traveling with his wife and loves getting involved in the local Lansing community.
Q: WHAT DO YOU DO FOR CONSUMERS ENERGY?
A: My primary role is to market our products and services to our residential customers. One of the big projects that I am working on now is to put together several customer forums around the state. These forums are called “Energy Answers” and they will offer our customers a one-stop location where they can get their questions answered and talk with local agencies. I really enjoy the work that I do, and the folks that I work with are a wonderful group of people. I am proud to say that I work for Consumers Energy.
Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
A: My wife loves to work in the garden, and I like to watch the Detroit Tigers. We try to go to two or three Tigers games a year. We do a lot of Lugnuts games, too. We just really love this community. My wife works at Cooley, and we used to live in Old Town. We enjoyed it there, but we wanted more space. However, we knew we wanted to remain in Lansing — it’s just a wonderful community. We have great neighbors, and there’s always something to do in Lansing.
Q: HOW ELSE ARE YOU INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY?
A: I serve on the Economic Development Corporation board here in Lansing. I have also worked on several local political campaigns, as well. I’ve done a lot of volunteer work and also serve on the vestry of my church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. My wife and I believe that it’s important to give back to the community.
