Greater Lansing residents were able to become tourists in their own town for a day. Passports provided access to local museums and many other downtown gems and activities for $1 each. More than 50 local businesses, attractions and activities opened up their doors for resident tourists.
Activities ranged from chalk art at the Lansing Art Gallery to celebrating International Migratory Bird Day with the Potter Park Zoo. Other highlights of the day included demonstrations and activities at the Impression 5 Science Center, tours of the State Capitol Building, homemade ice cream at the MSU Dairy Store and Over the Edge –– a rappel down 23 stories of Lansing’s tallest building, Boji Tower.
