Recipe of the Month: Kahlua Cake

Prep and cook time: 55 minutes


½ cup Kahlua liqueur 
1 16 oz (1 lb.) tub Cool Whip
1 Box chocolate cake mix
2 Large boxes of instant chocolate pudding
2 Heath chocolate candy bars (crushed/chopped)


Pre-heat oven and make cake according to box directions.
While cake is in the oven, make the pudding according to box directions and refrigerate.
Mix each pudding box (in separate bowls) with 2 cups of milk and ¼ cup Kahlua. Whisk for two minutes.
When the cake is done, begin to layer ingredients in a big bowl (divide into thirds to make three layers):

  • Crumble some cake (break with a fork)
  • Chocolate pudding
  • Cool Whip (sprinkle with some crushed Heath bar)

Repeat layers.
Sprinkle remaining chopped Heath bar on top of last Cool Whip layer.
