Walk for Warmth Raises Awareness

East Lansing Mayor Mark Meadows and his wife, East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas and his family, East Lansing Police Chief Larry Sparkes, East Lansing Deputy Police Chief Steve Gonzalez and Assistant to City Council Emily Gordon participated in the Capital Area Community Services 29th Annual Walk for Warmth on Feb. 23. Walk for Warmth, a 3-mile walk, raises public awareness and funds for individuals and families struggling to pay their heating bills. One hundred percent of all funds go toward helping residents in the community who are at risk of having their heat shut off.
