Premier chemical distribution company CJ Chemicals accepted the award for the 24thfastest growing women-owned/led company at this year’s Women President Organization (WPO) Awards held in Los Angeles, California.
The event was the 11thannual ranking of the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies. The WPO is the premier peer-advisory organization connecting women who own multimillion-dollar companies.
CJ Chemicals is a chemical distribution company owned and led by Catherine Lee. Lee has been in the chemical business more than 30 years. In 2010, along with the help of her son, Joshua, Catherine opened CJ Chemicals, which has seen remarkable growth since its first year.
“To be successful you must build your business on integrity and forming trusting partnerships both with suppliers and customer,” said Lee.
The company states that providing the best customer service is what sets CJ Chemicals apart in the chemical industry. The business has a broad repository of more than 350 different chemicals with capabilities in warehousing, storing, shipping and importing, along with exporting.

All 50 companies were honored during a special event in May. “Women entrepreneurs have built their businesses into an economic powerhouse, with a significant impact on the economy and job growth,” said WPO President and Founder Dr. Marsha Firestone.
Only one other Michigan-based company was honored at the event: Goldfish Swim School Franchising LLC, based in Troy, Michigan This year’t top 50 fastest growing women-led companies represented $8.3 billion in revenue in 2017.
