Degas said it best, “Art is not what you see but what you make others see.” Your chance to see a myriad of art in is coming in May as the Williamstown Township Fine Art Sale and Tour returns for its 9th run on May 4th and 5th.

The public is invited to tour over 20 artists work at their own pace, using the township provided map to navigate the event. Expect to see many mediums of art in both the artist’s studios and at the Williamstown Township Hall or St. Katherine’s Parish. Attendees can also place a one-time vote for their favorite artist and win a donated piece by an artist of their choice.

The event will include both nationally and internationally re-known artists including Mark Mehaffey of Mehaffey Gallery, whose piece “Fall Beginning” can be seen above.  Other artists include potter Ruth Zimmerman of Red Barn Pottery; sculptor Mark Chatterly of Mark Chatterly Gallery, Lee and Nancy Kronenberg who work in welded pieces and ceramics and paintings respectively. Bob Crawford who creates photo art will be showing work, as well as painter and photographer Juanita Baldwin, Jeweler James Leterneau and acrylic and canvas artist Ron Cook.

300 attended last year’s event and organizers are hoping to increase the turnout even more this year. The proceeds from the Fine Art Sale & Tour are dedicated for the betterment of the services in Williamstown Township. Proceeds this year will help fund children’s playground equipment for Williamstown Township Park on Grand River Avenue.

Tickets are $5 and are valid for both days of the event. They can be purchased at the township hall or online on EventBrite. Artwork is available for purchase and tickets are valid for both days at the event.
