The Capital Area Women’s Lifestyle Magazine Lady Classic is coming Sept. 19 to Hawk Hollow Golf Course. The annual event draws a bevy of golfers – and it has a twist that will make it totally tubular: An ’80s theme and a chance to win prizes for dressing the part and decking out your cart with awesome décor.
Each foursome’s caddy also makes the event super rad. They are usually dynamic and local celebs who bring personality to their daily duties on the course. In the past, CAWLM has enjoyed the likes of Rocco Rucinski and Jim Kost among others as caddies.
What defines a celeb? Well, generally he’s a righteous dude. Somebody a lot of people know and recognize in the community – whether they are a local news anchor, radio personality, chef, business owner, firefighter or school official. Do you know someone you think would make a great caddy? Let us know or ask them to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the meantime, these men may ask you for help on what to wear to an ’80s-themed golf outing. The male staffers of CAWLM in the above picture are no posers. They show great examples of what you can find with a quick trip to your local consignment shop, or maybe a deep look in your own closet.
Miami Vice: A summer blazer and a plain T-shirt would look pretty tight.
Too Cool for School: A concert tee and a jean jacket are plenty gnarly for the golf course.
The Preppie: Layer a couple Izods or polos and, like, pop those collars, buddy.
The Bad Boy: If it’s not too hot, a leather jacket always does to the trick when you want to look wicked cool.
All That Swag: He’s got the look with a buttoned-up shirt, sweater and pants with a pop of color.
The Golfer: Argyle sweater or polo, plaid pants and a visor or brimmed hat and you’ll be trippin’.
Other inspiration may come from ’80s rock stars and boy bands, ’80s movies and more.
