This month, our cocktail is coming straight from the north pole and is sure to warm you up and get you in the spirit of the season. Not only is it easy to make, but it can easily be a good drink for kids as well without the alcohol.
Hot cocoa mix: [makes 5 3/4 cups of dry mix]
3 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/4 cups cocoa
1 tablespoon table salt
Candy cane for garnishing
Warm milk in a saucepan on medium low heat until hot, making sure to not let the milk boil. Meanwhile, mix sugar, cocoa and table salt together and set aside. When milk is warm, add two tablespoons of cocoa mix for each cup of milk in the pan. When hot, fill a mug 3/4 full with the cocoa. Stir in one shot of the peppermint schnapps per mug and top with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa mix on top. Garnish with a candy cane.
