DIY AUTUMN LEAVES CANDLE JAR HOLDER

Share!

Now that fall is officially here, it’s time to get into the spirit! Want a fun DIY project? Check out this fall candle holder project!

Here is what you need:

A mason jar

Mod Podge

Artificial leaves

Paintbrush (or sponge brush)

Raffia, burlap or ribbon

Battery-operated votive

How to make it:

Dip your brush in Mod Podge and paint a thin layer on a section of the jar, make sure the Mod Podge is tacky, and then apply a leaf.

Cover with Mod Podge, smoothing out the edges as you go.

Continue layering the leaves and applying Mod Podge for the look you want on the jar. Once finished, let dry for several hours.

Re-Apply Mod Podge as many times as you need to get the leaves to lay flat.

Top off with a ribbon or bow of your choosing and insert the votive.

Hints:

For the artificial leaves, find some that are as thin and flat as possible, and without spines if you can. Or, use a thin crafting paper to make your own leaf designs. The flatter the leaf, the easier they will affix to the jar. This is a project that takes patience.

Find a jar without embossed letters. A smooth jar will be much easier to use.

Use your fingers if need be to flatten edges of each leaf.
