Habitat for Humanity Capitol Region (HFHCR) is proud to announce the addition of two new team members: Julie Durham will act as director of resource development, and Dennis Tyson has come onboard as the new construction project manager.
Durham has been helping families in poverty since she was a child, starting with giving to homeless shelters for Christmas by asking for checks from her parents. Her skills and curiosity grew over time, leading her from early childhood and rural development to career development, college readiness and charter school policy. Her commitment to increasing the quality of life for low-income families has shaped itself into program development, grant writing, evaluation and fundraising.
Before joining HFHCR, Tyson spent a 25-year career with Family Christian Stores as the director of construction and facilities. He was responsible for all aspects of designing, building, remodeling, relocating and maintaining over 360 locations. Dennis has led more than 20 mission trips for as well, both in the U.S. and Central Canada.
HFHCR is proud to welcome both these new additions to the staff. With a 30-year history in Greater Lansing, Habitat for Humanity Capital Region has provided housing services to over 1,000 families by way of affordable home ownership, home repair and installation programs for ramps.
