Mouthwatering Banana Bread

Tired of candy canes and fruitcake? We feel you.  We got a little hungry, so CAWLM went in search of the most luxurious banana bread we could find, and we found it. Try it yourself and let us know how it tasted!

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

1/2 cup caramel sauce (drizzle on top)

Optional: walnuts, chocolate chips or sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, vanilla extract and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into the flour mixture until moistened. If using walnuts, add them in at this step. Pour batter into a lightly greased prepared loaf pan.

Bake in preheated oven for about an hour or until toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes before drizzling with caramel. Add some sea salt or chocolate chips to the top even tastier flavors. Serve and enjoy.
