New Specialty Salon Opens in Lansing Area: Weave & Lash Bar

Until recently, Lansing was in desperate need of an upscale salon that provided more than typical salon services. Weave & Lash Bar, the new “beauty bar” in Lansing has officially filled that void as of Wednesday, July 20 when the salon hosted its grand opening event at their location at 932 Elmwood Rd. in Delta Township’s Elmwood Plaza.

Fonda Brewer-Williams (Owner)

Fonda Brewer-Williams’s journey in opening Weave & Lash began with her two college-age daughters. “They wear weaves, however, they would drive to Southfield to a weave salon to get their hair done at an affordable price,” she said. She noted that women with hair loss issues were unable to find quality, affordable and non-surgical human hair replacement options. She decided that it was time for her to start offering services right here in Lansing.

The Weave & Lash Bar is home to the $50 weave, but it also offers services such as shampoo and style, custom color, hair extensions, barber services, and more.

“There are many great salons that offer aspects of what we offer,” said Brewer-Williams. “However, we specialize in these areas, and as such, we have a working model that allows for more efficiency and lower pricing.”

The grand opening celebration of Weave & Lash Bar was hosted by Weave & Lash, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Lansing Black Chamber and Delta Township. The festivities lasted from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and many members of the community came out to take part in the fun. Music was provided by DJ Lady “A” with a celebrity appearance by Maja Sly, star of WE TV’s hit reality show, “Cutting it in the ATL.”

“The grand opening was outstanding,” said Brewer Williams. “There’s truly a buzz in the Greater Lansing community about Weave & Lash Bar. For more information about Weave & Lash Bar, visit
